Christian Formation for children is the beginning step of a life-long process of learning about the purpose of prayer, scripture, tradition and reason.
Children's Chapel
~ Sundays at 10:00am
Children's Chapel takes place during the Service of the Word (everything up until The Peace) during the 10:00 service beginning September 12. The order of service for Children's Chapel is directly from the Book of Common Prayer, and children participate as leaders in all aspects of the service. The lesson is the same as at least one of the lessons adults hear in Church, which gives families a basis for further discussion at home. Time is taken throughout the children’s service to answer questions. Particular care is taken during the Prayers of the People to hear any concerns offered up by the children. Children’s Chapel is for children in first through fifth grades. Adjustments will be made for non-readers.

Godly Play

Godly Play is a method of Christian education and spirtual direction. Godly Play's goal is to teach children (ages 4-8) the art of using religious language through parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence around them and in their lives.

Kingdom of the Son - Safari VBS 2010

June 14-18 9 AM - 12 PM
It's getting close to time for us to depart to the Serengeti for a week to explore the crazy wilderness of Africa!
We are looking for adventurers who range from potty-trained 3 year olds to upcoming 4th graders (4th graders for the 2010-2011 school year). We will learn about not only lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and elephants but also learn about Jesus Christ and the love he has for each and every one of us. If you are interested in having your child come with us on this wonderful and amazing safari, please register either by filling out the form using the link below or find a registration form in the Narthex, and send $15 to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, ATTN: VBS 2010. (All checks should be made out to "ECHS.")
